SOMETIME BETWEEN the storm and sunrise, he drifted off to sleep, but Marc cursing outside the shelter roused him. “Everything okay out there?” he hollered.
“Just pricked myself on this hook of yours” came Marc’s muttered reply.
Ian rolled over and stuck his head out the flap of the lean-to. Marc had his thumb jammed in his mouth, and he had to swallow down the thickness in his throat before he could talk. “I must be rubbing off on you.”
Marc released his thumb with a pop, and a thickening in Ian’s shorts replaced the tight feeling in his throat.
“No, you haven’t had the pleasure,” Marc said, raising a playful brow.
“What are you doing with my fishing pole?” he asked, changing the subject because he had no idea how to answer that.
“Thought I’d try out the killifish I caught in the spring. We might be able to catch something better than chub.”
Ian watched him hook a fish and start out for the water, tossing back a “Wish me luck.” Yesterday’s feast had done them both wonders, but he’d love some more fish.
In the meantime, he left the shelter to do his morning ritual that consisted of urinating and then jacking off to fantasies of Marc’s tanned torso. Now he added in the memories of stubble on his skin and delighted in the thought of beard rash as he spurted come all over his hand. He made a pretty big mess that he wiped on some leaves before grabbing firewood and returning to camp.
At some point the high tide had washed away some of the SOS they’d made out of wood in the sand. After repairing it for any potential helicopters that might fly over, he sat on the beach and scanned the horizon for boats. But that didn’t last long. As soon as his attention landed on bronzed shoulders, he couldn’t look away. Marc drew the fishing line back before casting it again, the movement accentuating his muscular form.
He tore his gaze away and chided himself. Nothing would ever come of his little crush, so there wasn’t much point in memorizing the lines of Marc’s body other than for his lust-fueled private time. But what if this was his last chance to sleep with a man? Marc’s body seemed willing, and the flirting had him thinking that maybe he’d be up for it, but he couldn’t do that to Francesca. Regardless of how, he did love her in his own way. He just wasn’t in love with her.
But maybe it was like Vegas: what happened on the island, stayed on the island.
His train of thought came to an abrupt halt when Marc yelled. He thought he said, “I got one,” but he couldn’t hear over the sound of crashing waves. The flailing had him standing up, one hand moving over his eyes to shield them as Marc turned around. He wore a huge grin as he held up breakfast, and so what if Ian’s knees went a little wobbly as he smiled back.
He always seemed to fall fast once he’d set his eyes on someone worthy of his time.
